Nursery Update: A Work-In-Progress

Hey! Long time, no post!

I’m now past my due date by two days and anxiously awaiting the big day. With 24 hours at most before the baby comes, I thought I would squeeze in a quick blog post with the updates to our nursery, which is very much a work-in-progress.

Boy and Girl hospital outfits. Any final guesses?

I had every intention of coming up with the “Perfect Gender Neutral Nursery”, since we aren’t finding out the gender. But as it turns out, I don’t want gender-neutral after all. I want a feminine, or all-boy nursery. So, after getting all of our furniture and some décor, I decided to leave the very white-and-bright nursery alone until baby comes. And let me tell you! This decision was such a relief after countless hours dreaming, Pinteresting and searching for a design theme I loved. This way I have the ground work laid for a blank slate, which I will make all-girl or all-boy after we know!

Etsy printables, which run about $5 for the digital file, are super easy to download and print, and cheap enough to swap out if/when my design changes after baby comes.

Dresser handles were replaced with simple wooden dowels from Home Depot, to tie into the wood wall — Simple DIY update: Use wooden dowels for custom drawer pulls

This dresser has been in my daughters room for 10+ years. After giving it a fresh coat of white paint (which matches the door and trim color), we replaced the outdated drawer pulls with these simple pre-cut square wooden dowels (from Home Depot, Lowes, or other hardware stores), which tie the dresser in with the wood wall.

The changing table is from Pottery Barn, purchased off Craigslist and repainted in the same color as the dresser. Wooden storage boxes purchased from Target. These were a lucky find!
